Case Study 1

Inspire 2 Work (East Wales) – Please note this project has now closed.

Project description

I2W has been designed to provide support for young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and have no means of re-engaging with formal or informal education, training, volunteering or employment.

The Operation will provide a tailored support package to help young people:

  • identify personal barriers
  • understand how the barriers inhibit/restrict entry, participation and progression in education, training or employment
  • formulate an action plan to mitigate or eliminate the identified barriers
  • deliver the agreed supportive actions
  • provide progression routes into further education, training, volunteering or employment

Through a ‘person centre’ approach, the operation aims to engage, support and enable NEET 16-24 years to gain a range of skills, qualifications and meaningful work placements to feel confident and motivated to enter into sustainable employment or further learning.
