Inspire 2 Work (West Wales and the Valleys) – Please note this project has now closed.

Project description

I2W has been designed to provide support for young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and have no means of re-engaging with formal or informal education, training, volunteering or employment.

The Operation will provide tailored support to help young people:

  • identify the personal barriers they face
  • understand how the barriers inhibit / restrict their entry, participation and progression in education, training or employment
  • formulate an action plan to mitigate or eliminate the identified barriers
  • deliver the agreed supportive actions
  • provide progression routes into further education, training, volunteering or employment

Geographical coverage

The project works throughout the following local authority areas of South East Wales: Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Torfaen and Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Essential eligibility criteria

  • Legal right to live and work in the UK
  • Aged between 16 and 24
  • Not be in Education, Employment or Training

Specific targets

  • Gaining a qualification upon leaving
  • In education / training upon leaving
  • Entering employment upon leaving
