Welsh Financial Sector Graduate Programme

Project description

The operation is a collaborative graduate development initiative which combines vocational development and academic study, led by the Welsh Contact Centre Forum and delivered by financial services organisations in Cardiff. The Programme is partly funded by the European Social Fund and financial services industry.

Participating employers include Legal & General, Admiral, Atradius, BBC Finance, Amtrust, DS Smith, V12 Retail Finance, LexisNexis, Principality Building Society, Hodge Bank, GM Financial, Finance Wales and Optimum Credit.

The University of South Wales works in close partnership with the programme, to deliver the MSc in Financial Services Management qualification.

The operation aims to deliver a best in class graduate training & development programme leading to the creation of a high quality talent pool in financial services skills in Cardiff to support innovation and growth within the industry.

To date, the programme has recruited and developed 74 graduates, 90% of which are employed by the Consortium or local industry, rising to 115 by 2019.

 

Geographical coverage

The project operates in non-Communities First Areas in the East Wales programme area.

Essential eligibility criteria

Graduates with 2.1 degree & right to work in UK.

Specific targets

Recruitment and development of 80 graduates & achievement of 80 Masters level qualifications over a 4 year period.
