CEIC (Circular Economy Innovation Communities)

Project description

The Circular Economy Innovation Communities (CEIC) is a £3.7m project which will help public sector organisations in South Wales work together to develop new regional service solutions to existing circular economy challenges. Funded by the Welsh Government and the European Social Fund, the CEIC project is a collaboration between Swansea University and Cardiff Metropolitan University, who will deliver the programme in their respective regions.

The CEIC programme is available to public and third sector organisations in the Cardiff Capital Region and Swansea Bay City Region and will help leaders and managers to develop new service solutions and deliver circular economy benefits for their organisations and the regions. The key objectives of the programme are to:

  • Create inter-organisation collaborative innovation networks to support regional working and enable public sector organisations to solve existing problems through the use of tools, procedures and methods
  • Enhance circular economy knowledge of public sector organisations to meet Welsh Government Future Generations Act Goals
  • Enhance innovation knowledge and skills and to drive up productivity.

The programme will comprise workshops, site visits, action learning, peer learning and expert support to enable managers to co-create new product or service solutions and to implement them with support. It will run over a 10-month period and will be fully-funded for organisations/entities.
