The new and improved Cardiff Capital Region website is now live.  It’s a comprehensive one-stop shop for anything and everything related to the City Deal; serving as a hub for all their project updates, an investment hub showcasing opportunities available across the region, funds that are available and how exactly to access them. It also has all the latest news and events showcased with an improved layout and design, an easy to access archive of all previous papers and publications with information on each of the region’s priority sectors and key areas of focus.

Visit the new CCR website.

On the website you will find more information about the opportunities offered by the Challenge Fund and the Strategic Premises Fund.

The new Strategic Premises Fund will support the delivery of CCR’s Industrial and Economic Plan for the development of new sites and employment premises which will help new and existing businesses to scale up and invest in the region. This new Fund will be important in giving access to finance at a critical time in the region’s economic recovery post-COVID-19. Projects that are key to delivery of the region’s economic priorities in support of innovation, business growth and regeneration will be targeted. Specialist Independent Advisors CBRE have been appointed as Fund Advisors. The Fund is now open to applications.

The CCR Challenge Fund is now open to new expressions of interest and seeking challenge ideas from public sector bodies.  All projects must address one or more of the following themes:

  • Accelerating decarbonisation
  • Improving the health and wellbeing of the region’s citizens
  • Supporting, enhancing, and transforming communities

The call is targeted at public sector organisations active in the Cardiff Capital Region wishing to develop and run a challenge.  All applicants must be subject to state aid rules (e.g. Local Authorities, Health Boards, Blue Light Services, government departments / government agencies).

The deadline for full applications to be received is 1st October 2021.
