Recently the Valleys Regional Park has celebrated multiple achievements such as the opening of a brand new Wellbeing Work-hub at Llyn Llech Owain Country Park. This work-hub is part of a series of improvements made to the park and provides an alternative option to remote working whilst enjoying the wellbeing benefits of nature and biodiversity.
As well as this, seven of our twelve Discovery Gateway sites have been awarded the 2020/21 Green Flag Award. This is a huge achievement and it’s great to see our partner sites representing the high quality standards for publicly accessible parks, reserves and green spaces in Wales.
Our VRP Guardians Scheme is continuing to provide nature focused activities across our Discovery Gateways for communities, as well as attending various primary schools across the Valleys to work with children and adults to provide food growing skills in conjunction with the Big Bocs Bwyd project.
On 28th October, Valleys Regional Park launched their very first campaign titled ‘It’s in our Nature’. This campaign will span over the next two years focussing on the continued partnerships across the Valleys, and the environmental and social benefits projects are having for local communities and the future generations of the South Wales Valleys
